Union Espanola’s Misael Davila and Mario Sandoval are injured, while Cristian Palacios is expected to be available once again here. Jose Pedro Fuenzalida and German Lanaro have been ruled out for Universidad Catolica due to injury, while Edson Puch has been listed as questionable due to a muscular injury.

Union Espanola

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/Unavailable: Mario Sandoval (undisclosed), Yulian Mejia (anterior cruciate ligament), Misael Davila (knee)

Universidad Catolica

Suspended: None

Doubtful: Edson Puch (muscular)

Injured/Unavailable: Francisco Silva (knee), German Lanaro (anterior cruciate ligament), Jose Pedro Fuenzalida, Cesar Munder (both muscular), Juan Fuentes, Tomas Astabaruaga (both undisclosed)

Union Espanola are coming off a 2-2 draw against Palestino the last time out, and that result should be a positive one considering how depleted they’ve been in recent weeks. In fact, Union Espanola enter this game on the heels of a four-game undefeated streak (W1, D3), but their home form has been poor of late since they have not won in their last four league contests in this venue (D2, L2). Universidad Catolica sit comfortably at the top of the standings and have been the best team in the league once again, although they’ve won just two of their last seven league matches (W2, D5) and are coming off a 1-1 home draw against Curico Unido. Catolica also have the best away record in the league with just two losses in 13 road league contests (W7, D4, L2) while scoring close to two goals per away game this season. Universidad Catolica are depleted on both sides of the ball, though, and Union Espanola should take advantage of that to secure the three points at home.

The recent H2H record between both sides indicates an edge for Union Espanola since they’ve lost just once in their last five league games against Catolica (W2, D2 and L1).
